another 30 day experiment finishes...
So, this is the last day of Feb. and my 30 days in the war room experiment is over. Incidentally, this day just happens to be the 3rd year celebration of non-stop prayer in the Dowtown Eastside of Vancouver. So, my last shift of this month's experiment is the culmination of our time together in prayer and a celebration of God's faithfulness to that end. Cool.
It's amazing how God can make a small room in a slum hotel into a holy place of intercession. Only God could think of this. And, one thing I'm going to miss intensely about this community is The War Room. It's significance can only be under-rated by us on this side of heaven. I'm convinced this habit is a world winning strategy... and I'm already praying for a holy space in another city around the other side of the world to spring up soon...
My next 30 day experiment: MOVING!!

Not fair, your experiment can't be moving. It's something you have to do every day, like, practicing the yo-yo, working on your flexibility, or dyeing your hair a new colour every day.

are you kidding... I'm going to be packing, cleaning, unpacking, and then unpacking again... it will be a full month of moving... well, I'm sure you understand the hassle! ;-)

Danielle, the War Room sounds intriguing.. I'll have to learn more. I would love a room of world-changing proportions in the Aust. Southern Training College... (although you could argue that the whole place should be like that!)
Our prayers are with you as you make the journey, don't forget to pack the fire...

We are in the midst of bringing our own "war room" to the corps in Bangor - and I have a headache from the smell of paint to prove it! This room is in the bottom centre of our building, right below the chapel. We are looking forward to the fire of Holy Spirit to begin burning there and rise up throughout the building. This will be one instance where heat rising will be a good thing!
Lots of prayers going up for you as you continue on in the moving process. I believe it constitutes a good month, for sure ;)
yep, my votes that it totally counts on the 30 day experiment! After all there is going to be experimenting whether things will fit or break or arrive at the final destination, its really a very experimental time when you think about it! Oh and a 4 1/2 yr old boy on a long flight...yep, all very experimental really!
I still say it's an enormous cheat. Last time I moved across the country it was during Lent, and I couldn't eat chocolate or eat after 8 pm. As I was driving across Canada on my own these were serious limitations!
I think we can all agree that Danielle is just a great wus.
:)
Grace,
Aaron
you are in serious trouble... now we know you can talk trash... but are you ready to rumble??!!!
